As vehicle systems become increasingly dependent on high-speed data communications, conventional continuity testing alone cannot identify every cable problem. The 6 GHz capability of TestPro Automotive enables technicians to assess the high-frequency performance of automotive wire harnesses supporting applications such as ADAS, infotainment, cameras and EV systems.

Most importantly, testing can be performed while the harness remains installed in the vehicle. TestPro Automotive combines high-frequency Return Loss measurements with TDR (Time Domain Reflectometer) analysis to identify impedance variations and pinpoint the distance to faults, helping technicians locate issues such as damaged cables, connectors or other discontinuities more quickly.

Cable configurations, connector locations and acceptable limits can also be defined and stored, allowing known characteristics of a harness to be distinguished from unexpected anomalies. This helps create repeatable diagnostic procedures for production-line, quality-control and service-centre environments.
