The AEM Networks 26.5 GHz VNA & TDR Adapter combines high-frequency RF performance, ultra-fine fault localisation and field portability in one TestPro-based platform. Many handheld cable and TDR instruments operate at substantially lower frequencies, while instruments capable of reaching 26.5 GHz typically sit in a higher-cost RF analyser category.
AEM Networks brings these capabilities together in a platform designed for practical deployment across production, engineering and field environments, rather than limiting it to a small number of premium laboratory instruments.
26.5 GHz Performance – in a Handheld Platform

Most conventional handheld TDR and cable-test instruments operate at lower bandwidths. By extending testing to 26.5 GHz, the AEM adapter delivers approximately 3.8 mm TDR spatial resolution, enabling much finer localisation of small impedance discontinuities and connector-level defects. The launch material positions this, to AEM’s knowledge, as among the finest TDR resolution available in a handheld instrument.
Two Instruments in One

Rather than requiring separate equipment for frequency-domain analysis and time-domain fault location, the adapter combines full 2-port VNA capability and handheld TDR diagnostics on the same hardware platform. Engineers can perform S11, S12, S21 and S22 measurements in Generic VNA Mode, then switch to TDR, Return Loss and Insertion Loss testing for field diagnostics – without changing instruments.
Built Around Automotive and Production Workflows

Many general-purpose VNAs provide sophisticated RF measurements but are not designed around automotive cable-harness testing. The AEM platform adds OPEN Alliance and IEEE 802.3bw/bp/ch support, configurable PASS/FAIL limits, harness profiles, known-good cable comparison and visual TDR event mapping – turning complex measurements into workflows that technicians and production operators can use more readily.
Designed to Scale Beyond the Lab

The adapter is battery-operated, IP-addressable and network-connected, allowing high-frequency testing to move from the laboratory to production lines, field installations and remote sites. Ethernet access also supports centralised monitoring and data retrieval, making the platform suitable for distributed manufacturing and multi-site test environments.
In short the 26.5GHz Adaptor combines 26.5 GHz bandwidth, 3.8 mm TDR resolution, full VNA analysis and field-ready diagnostics in one portable TestPro platform.
